BEER LOVERS GATHER - IT'S CAPE TOWN 10th FESTIVAL OF BEER
Avoid FOMO, get your early bird tickets to the Festival of beer happening in Cape Town on 29 November - 1 December 2019
Oh man, how exciting was this media launch of Cape Town Festival of Beer! I got to cruise to different beer stops on an e-bike along Seapoint Promenade. I could not recollect my lost childhood memory to remember when the last time was I set foot on a bike, so yes... I was slightly nervous because how does one pedal a bike again (let alone an e-bike)? How do you balance a bike when there is constant moving around you? My nerves! 😄 But thanks to Gonow E-bikes, this ride was pretty easy... An environmentally-friendly, rechargeable bike which is self powered too! How cool? (You will have to read until the end to get details on how to get your hands on one of these boys)
We started with a beer (or two) at Strolla Restaurant & Bar, an elegant gem situated in Seapoint. I knew I was in for a treat, but the view when sitting on the sunset deck of Strolla literally took my breathe away! Imagine sipping on Devil's Peak Premium Lager with a view like this?! Absolutely breathtaking. You can easily get lost in your thoughts while staring at the big, bold waves and coral blue pools... I will have to go back for a full-on experience because time was running out and I had to get geared up and ready to get on an e-bike and start cruising.
First stop - The MOJO Market! Mojo is known as "The Heart of Sea Point", 30 Food Stalls and an artisan Retail offering – to 4 bars, one of which boasts the widest selection of beverages on Tap. Add this to your hangout spots! Fresh, big oysters, most delicious burgers and ofcourse... copious amounts of beer! Let me not bore you with too much detail...
Second stop - Rockpool Restaurant in Beach Road Cape Town. At this point I was ecstatic that I made it safely to the second stop (see what I mean about the e-bike? It's a breeze). More food and beer! I am big eater so I could not say no to the big plate of cheesy, very appealing nachos and ice cold CBC beer? I indulged a little too much... But who cares when you have the most beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean Rockpool offers, besides their reasonably priced cocktails and great food too!
Last stop - Hamilton's Rugby Club with Cape Town Stadium as your back drop! Its so close that you could almost touch it with your fingertip. Haha. An endless variety of craft beer on Tap, canned beer and Pizzas for the Gods.
And this is where the Festival of Beer will take of, featuring over 200 BEERS! They say the festival is South Africa’s largest annual gathering of beer enthusiasts, connoisseurs and those just wanting to learn more about beer (like me). Expect over 60 breweries - both international and local - with limited edition beers brewed specifically for the festival. And YES, great entertainment guaranteed including food stalls and live music. This is insane! So what are you waiting for? It's only R99 for early bird tickets on @Webticket.
